In this blog, I'm going to share our grand stay at a little farm just outside of the city of Asheville, North Carolina. Perhaps you didn't know that you could AirBnB with alpacas... but now you do!
{I know most of you didn't get the word that I'm MARRIED now! So surprise! I was planning to write a lovely blog of us becoming a family and wedding photos (months ago in the summer), but I've been a little busy with 2 toddlers, working full time as an Interior Designer, and re-branding and getting our business up and ready to run again in January! So... sorry! It will come.}
For now, I want to share with you a place you should add to your bucket list. Just beyond Asheville (about 9 minutes from downtown) in the valley sits a beautiful farm that is filled with magic! It's beyond words. When my husband Adam said he had gotten us tickets to a Christmas performance in town, I decided to start looking at places to stay when I stumbled accross this adorable little AirBnB. If you know me well, they had me at "farm" and "alpaca" and especially at "goats"!

I'm just going to let this sit here for a moment so you can take in the view before I spill all the deets!
When we arrived, Erik and Ricco (a little rescue dog) greeted us, along with the super sweet cats. We got all our things tucked away inside so we could take in the views of the mountains from every room of the guest quarters. The privacy they offer with panels for the sauna and hot tub were fabulous, but the views from them were spectacular! The animals were all the rage- including the adorable new mini horse, the duck who thinks it is a chicken (it literally roosts on the fence), and the alpacas that so kindly just breeze their way into your presence for a chance at a Cheeto! The goats of course considered me one of their own. And, I solidified a dream that I will, in fact, own a lavender hen next year!
The inside is just as luxurious as the outside (though you know this farm girl would rather be outside) with 2 queen beds, a spacious kitchen for entertaining, and living room complete with a piano for those more musically inclined and gifted than me! No one will feel cramped up in this retreat- just ask my husband (we are not a fan of small spaces and he had plenty of room to roam while I took all these photos and footage to share with you!).
There is a short walk to a beautiful soft creek nestled close to the property and you're just a few minutes from brunch at the Early Girl Eatery -featuring all sorts of local farms, businesses, and breweries, and anything else you'd like to dip your toe in in Asheville. For us, the hot air balloons did it for us as we were preparing to leave on Sunday morning, they were making their way into the valley, just below where we were staying.
If you're looking for a place to stay with everything you need whether it's just the two of you or the family, this spacious guest quarters at Vera's at The Air BnB Farm in Asheville is a must!
